Where can I stay?
September is a big travel month in New York, and participants are encouraged to book early! There are thousands of hotels in New York City. We recommend the following for their convenient location close to the Columbia University campus.
Conference organizers have not negotiated preferred rates with any hotels, although many of them offer specials/discounts online, or via telephone for guests of Columbia University. In the past, participants have had good luck finding cheaper rooms using discount travel websites (Priceline, Orbits, Hotels.com, Booking.com, etc.), although ICSD does not endorse any of these sites.

How do I get from the airport to Columbia University?
New York is served by several international airports: La Guardia, John F. Kennedy International, and Newark International (in New Jersey). Cost can vary greatly depending on the airport of arrival and departure; we encourage participants to compare alternate itineraries. Detailed travel directions to the Columbia campus by car, train, bus, or public transportation are available from Columbia University.
